Speciality supplies are typically made to be used to address a specific problem or work for a specific application. Reflective tapes probably have the broadest application.
Reflective supplies are excellent for marking security signs, traffic control signs, parking lot signs, and any type of sign or label that might need to be read from a distance or under low light conditions. Traffic control and parking lot signs are going to be larger than the maximum four inch width of tapes the DuraLabel uses. That's not a problem. The DuraLabel can print larger signs by "tiling" the text and graphics across several strips of tape. Printing a sign tat is three feet by four feet, for example,is not a problem for the DuraLabel.
Phosphorescent tapes can also be used to outline doorways, mark stairs, and indicate exit routes. They can be used to lead people safely to exits, identify emergency equipment, and to provide emergency informatin. Repositionable Tapes : These are supplies that are used to make labels and signs that can be applied, removed, and applied in a new location. A common application for repositionable DuraLabel supplies is in a warhouse or in shipping/receiving. The contents of shelves and bins can be identusing temporary labels that can be changedand moved as needed. Repositional supplies can also used to identify work-in-progress, products being tested, equipment or components needing repair, for applications in which accurate temporary labeling is needed. Cold Storage (Low Temperature) Tapes: Cold storage tapes have an adhesive backing that stays "sticky" at temperatures as low as -10 degrees F, allowing labels and signs made with these tapes to be applied at low temperatures. The most common application for Cold Storage Tapes is in cold storage facilities. Shelves and bins within freezers can be labeled. Another application is in locations that have cold winters. Circumstances can arise in which safety information must be made available, and low temperature DuraLabel supplies allow you to create and apply permanent labels even during cold winter months. DuraTags: these are tough tags that can be used for applications where labels can not be used. For example, they are used to label tubing and instruments that are too small for labels. Tags are used to provide temporary information such as during maintenance. Tags are used to provide information about circuit breakers, switches, valves and other control devices. What is unique about DuraTags is that they are incredibly tough. You can punch a hole in a DuraTag and attach it to a pipe using a plastic tie. No grommet is needed! Reflective Tapes: this type of supply provides high visibility signs and labels that are excellent for low-visibility conditions. The example to the right shows two signs that are exactly the same, except that the upper sign was printed using reflective tape. The photograph was taken under reduced lighting. The reflective sign is much more visible and is easier to read.
Phosphorescent Tapes:
Reflective tapes are excellent for low light conditions, but what happens when the lights go out? Phosphorescent tapes glow-in-the-dark, providing an illuminated sign or label for up to ten hours. Since they do not require a power source of any kind, phosphorescent labels can be relied upon to provide needed information during emergencies such as power failures.
