Labels & Stickers
A label printer
is a helpful tool in the classroom. Not only can you make labels
and signs, a school labeler should be able to make stickers with
either permanent or temporary adhesive, magnetic-backed "stickers"
in any shape and including text and graphics, and static cling stickers
in any shape.
The Varitronics
VisiMate is he only machine we know of that provides these capabilities.
When we say
"make stickers" we are referring to a label printer
that is also a vinyl cutter. Labels can be printed and then cut
into custom shapes to create stickers. It can also be used to
create cut vinyl lettering and graphics. With a variety of materials
available, the label printer can then also be used to create magnetic-backed
stickers, labels and signs as well as static cling stickers, labels
and signs. This provide the advantage of "sticking"
to various surfaces without marking those surfaces. Another option
is to use repositional vinyl tapes. These are tapes that have
an adhesive that allows them to be removed after they've been
applied.
Having all
of these capabilities in one machine will save money because only
one set of supplies needs to be purchased. For example, with the
Varitronics VisiMate the same supplies can be used to make a warning
label for an outdoor structure and cut vinyl lettering for an
office window. Another reason you'll see savings is that your
staff will only need to know how to use one machine. There will
be no need for double training to learn how to use two--or maybe
three--different machines.
